The Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) system is a centralized, university-wide digital platform built in the GUFaculty360 system that assists faculty with tracking all activities related to research, education, and service. The FAR system is for all individuals with a faculty appointment on any of the four campuses (GUMC, GU-Q, Law, or Main).
The system automatically pulls available existing records directly into your profile to eliminate redundant data entry. Through the FAR system, faculty maintain granular privacy controls over their information while gaining the ability to instantly generate a report of their activities that could be used for the annual self-evaluation.
Access and Login to FAR Annual Report
You access the FAR Annual Report feature through GU360. When you login to GU360 and go to your Dashboard, you can scroll to the bottom to find the button to “Generate the Faculty Activity Report” to begin the process of generating your faculty activity report. There are several benefits of having a central faculty activity reporting system including:
Minimize Manual Data Entry: The system will automatically pull existing data from university records, such as course schedules and grant awards, and external publication databases, such as ORCID and PubMed.
Time Savings: Generate the information necessary for your annual report with review and a single click. In the future, the system could also be used to draft CVs for promotion and merit review materials.
Data Control: Faculty will have granular privacy controls to choose exactly what is shared publicly versus what remains for internal reporting only.
Accreditation Support: Builds a system that could in the future support the reporting required for departmental and university-wide accreditation, reducing the need for ad-hoc data requests.

The need for a central faculty activity reporting system stemmed from the Faculty Senate in Spring 2022. Following this discussion, the Provost charged a university-wide representative working group to work with the University Information Systems (UIS) team to outline the requirements for the system and to make a recommendation for the platform. The project evolved into a multi-year project with multiple phases:
Phase 1 (Fall 2022 – Spring 2024): System requirements, demos from potential systems to meet requirements, discussions with peer institutions, recommendation of system to Campus EVPs; decision to move forward with GU360 platform
Phase 2 (Fall 2024 – Spring 2025): Building GU360 system to meet system requirements
Phase 3 (Fall 2025 – Spring 2026): Two separate pilots with university-wide faculty representatives, feedback analysis, updating system based on feedback

The university-wide implementation of the Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) System is structured in a staggered rollout to accommodate the distinct academic and evaluation calendars of each campus and school:
October 2026: Main Campus
December 2026: GUMC university-employed faculty and GU-Q
Spring 2027: Law Center and GUMC non-university employed faculty
Within each of these campus launches, there will be campus-specific synchronous trainings and workshops (listed below) and communications ahead of and during the launches to learn more about the system, what you need to do to add your faculty activities and generate a report of your activities, and answer any questions that you may have.
